This answer, which seems ingenuous to me, prompts me for some clarification.
Let's start with what a modern book author is.
For the most part, he is a completely helpless figure.
And he is a potential loser not at all because it was written on his destiny.
Not at all!
There is a policy of gradually, consistent, effective destruction of creative markets. The links between creators and consumers of creative products (the public) are destroyed, respectively, for authors the only more or less reliable way is to use a servile style of behavior and to receive money in various forms from government sources (and not from the personal funds of the broad masses of the population).
So the author starts from an obviously unfavorable position.
(An author is not very strong, too, in the conditions of developed creative markets, but nevertheless, with many publishing houses, with a ready-to-buy public, he has more different opportunities).
The ability to hope and the ability to trust are properties of a human nature.
The author meets fabulous stories about the success of people using electronic publishing services.
Information about the masses of people who apply for the publication of their books in electronic publishing services is being pumped into his consciousness by various methods.
Some bonuses are added to this. Why not get ISBN or other indexes through electronic publishing service? (ISBN is not a harmful thing in itself, but it does not have a significant - any? - positive impact on the situation).

Finally, the author encounters an obvious violation. Not only the title of his book is mentioned on the pages of Internet sites, but, in addition to the title, the text from his book is used.
This directly and obviously violates one of the basic principles of copyright: the copyright text can be used only with the consent of the author, expressed in the copyright agreement.
But three years have already passed!
All this time, copyright has been violated!
The author applies to the electronic publishing service with a demand to stop copyright infringement.
He gets an answer: copyright has been violated on the basis of some internal rules that are accepted by players in the e-book market.
It sounds! Internal rules are placed above copyright, which has been developed for centuries and which is enshrined in international conventions and laws!
This is the modern Russial reality - in terms of observing the rights of the author of the book!
The author insists on respecting his rights.
To this, the publishing service sends him a sincere letter, where it shifts the focus of discussion from the violation of the author's rights to the statement that the readers allegedly did not buy the author's books.
Logically, the author from a person who defends his rights (and did not require a kopeck, not a ruble from the service for three years), turns into a loser who suddenly plunged into business correspondence. Maybe it's better to calm down? We explained that books are not bought! Be ashamed of your creative failure, and sit silently.
Do you want to refute the thesis that the books were not bought by readers? Try do it.
