"Oh, Rain! What"s wrong with you, Rain? What"s happened to you, Rain?!"
The Man in the overcoat tried to turn away from the furious Wind, tearing down everything on his way. The Rain lashed him in the face, hit his hands, forcing them to be hidden. No matter where the Man in the overcoat turned his back, he couldn"t find any shelter to hide in.
"Rain, my dear! What"s happened to you, Rain?!It"s just me!"
The Man in the overcoat tried to look up in the Sky, to look in the face of his Rain.
But the Wind tore furiously his soaking wet hair, which stuck to the eyes. And there was no way he could see anything.
"Ra-a-a-ain! That"s not you at all! Not you! I"ve just realized! Not you at all!! I know!"- the Man in the overcoat screamed into the void, crying at the top of his voice. He cried over and over:"Oh, Rain, my Rain! Ra-a-a-ain!"
Suddenly he stopped struggling and gave in. Then he stood up straight and dropped his hands. It struck him, all of a sudden, that something had happened to his friend. Something wrong..It was obvious.
He stood, mouthing, only mouthing, again and again: "Rain! My Rain! What"s happened to you, anyway? What"s really happened to you? Tell me. Tell me. Do tell me. I love you so much. I love you. Love you. Know this. Always know this! Remember this! Always! Always!"
Suddenly the Man in the overcoat stretched out his arms and screamed out to the Heavens:
"Rain! Feel me! Do feel me! Wherever you are, wherever you go, whatever happened to you! No matter what happens..I AM SENDING YOU MY LIFE FORCE! To help you! Can you hear me now? Hear me now! Listen to me!Feel me! Just feel me!!"
All of a sudden, the World split up. With his eyes closed, the Man in the overcoat could hear the sounds of severe raging thunderstorm and the cannonade of disaster, as if it was all happening somewhere else, behind some sort of a great Wall..
He stood at the very Edge of Silence and Darkness, cool rare drops falling slowly on his face. Falling drops slowly... How much he loved it...
The Man in the overcoat smiled happily. He didn"t even have to open his eyes. He knew exactly, that it was his friend, his Rain, who had finally come to him.
Then he opened his eyes to see a dense see-through figure of the Rain. He was sitting on a lamp post, with his hands holding his security Wall, he had created himself. Right behind that very wall the severe storm was blowing furiously, the trees bent to the ground and the billboards ruthlessly torn down. Those billboards, like huge awkward birds, were being carried away, far away into the black Sky, their metal wings absurdly swinging.
"Soon all this stuff will be over.."- the Rain said."You"ve got hurt, haven"t you? I know what you"ve been through.."- he added, slightly turning his head to the Man in the overcoat, without getting sidetracked from his invisible Wall.
"I got scared for you. For your safety,"- the Man in the overcoat was looking at his friend.
"I thought, you had gone mad. You had lost your mind. I was scared, that someone had taken your Memory and your Love," the Man in the overcoat stood, looking at his friend. He was too exhausted, his hands hanging down. His overcoat with a button turned off. His hair, in clumps ,stuck out in different directions, was of a strange colour, because of the dirt. It was filthy. The candy wrapper "Squirrel" lying beautifully on his shoulder..
But he beamed so happily! And the Rain caught sight of flickering light, circling around the Man in the overcoat. The Rain was capable of seeing that. The Rain was able to see that.
Then he jumped off the lamp post and in a moment appeared next to his friend..He gave him a hug and they stood silently, without saying a word. Nothing more needed to be said. There was no need in saying anything.
They cuddled up together. The Man in the overcoat heaved a sigh of relief ,with his hot cheek pressed to the cool cheek of the Rain. He was deliriously happy!
"And for your Help, friend.. Thanks a lot,"- the Rain moved away from the Man in the overcoat to see his eyes.
" You took everything in the right spirit! You did understand me aright."
The Man in the overcoat was about to ask questions, when he suddenly realized, it was not the best time for it.
"May it never happen again! Do take care of yourself, friend!"- the Man in the overcoat added, pressing his cheek to his Rain again. This way would be safer. Only this way he really understood, that his Rain was next to him. And there was nothing wrong with him.
"Nobody is capable of being silent like you are,"- the Rain said quietly.
